Youth/Family Newsletter
October 2016

Greetings in the name of Jesus,

September proved to be a wonderful month. We started out our new Bible Study, "Generosity". We have all the same opportunities for attending class. We have four availabilities: Thursday at 10:30AM, Thursday at 6:30PM, and Sunday at 9:45AM in the Chapel and the Lounge, with the youth meeting in the youth room; and Jesus Central is on track in the Open Arms wing.

The Wednesday evenings were definitely different from past Septembers. We started out with our picnic in Battle Creek and had a great time to meet new friends and catch up with others to see what their summer had held. Our second Wednesday evening we partnered with Habitat for Humanity and made five deck storage boxes for families. The third Wednesday we had another chance for dinner and reviewed our "Set Free" campaign. We wrapped up the month with a parent meeting.

Our fall schedule is shaping up to busy with our classes on Wednesday night as well as other activities: Our annual trip to Pine Tree Apple Orchard is scheduled for October 23 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Come out for some fellowship, snacks, and a devotion around the fire after our wagon ride to the pumpkin patch. October 27th will be "Harvest Fest," an evening of games snacks and fellowship for the children and families in our Open Arms program. If you are in need of service hours for National Honor Society this is a great chance to help us out and earn your hours. Contact me and I can get you slotted to work.

The last Sunday, October 30th is a special day. At our 10:45 service we will be able to support our confirmands when they will be confirming their baptism.

In the summer of 2017 we will be headed to Kokomo, Indiana for Mission Possible 12. Watch for more details as we move closer to this faith in action event.

May God bless as you live out your faith,

Tim Germain, DCE
